Carnegie Mellon University's Introduction to Machine Learning course needs a Teaching Assistant to support the instructor and provide an effective learning experience for students
Requirements
- Familiarity with Google Suite tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Interest in a reflective team process
- Previous experience as a student in the Introduction to Machine Learning course or recent industry experience in software development and project management (minimum 4 years)
Responsibilities
- Assist the instructor in providing an effective learning experience for students enrolled in the course
- Manage course activity online in Canvas, including but not limited to supervising student submissions, helping to ensure appropriate structure, format, and best practices are followed in all submitted deliverables
- Review student drafts and final assignments, providing actionable, constructive feedback, notes, scores, and corrections as appropriate
- Hold office hours for 90 minutes per week to assist students as needed
- Clarify instructions for assignments to students, as needed, through office hours or email, or via Canvas discussion forums
- Meet with students and teams, as requested by the instructor, for the purpose of additional explanation and guidance on the assigned work
- Attend all class meetings for one section each week, for the full duration of the semester
