Apple Maps needs a technically minded and communicative software engineer to assist in the development of frameworks and app features which support the entire Apple Maps ecosystem, contributing to a wide range of Apple experiences and ensuring Maps works seamlessly with upcoming hardware and software releases.
Requirements
- Expertise with object-oriented programming languages such as Objective-C and Swift
- Proficiency with frameworks such as SwiftUI and UIKit/AppKit
- Ability to define and analyze software solutions and provide clear technical designs for them
- Keen ability to identify technical risks and provide plans of mitigation in collaboration with other team members
- Proficiency in debugging and performance optimization concepts such as power management and memory management
- At least 4 years full-time production level Apple-Native development
- Designing and building APIs and frameworks
Responsibilities
- Establishing requirements from our clients and translating them into scalable, reliable code
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Human Interaction Design, Privacy, and other Services related Engineering teams
- Designing APIs that enable developers to build mapping features into their apps
- Developing, launching, and maintaining cross-platform features that integrate Maps into the larger Apple ecosystem
- Providing technical insights and updates about the Maps ecosystem to partner teams
- Learning and adapting quickly to evolving business requirements
Other
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree and 2+ years of hands-on engineering experience
- Possess strong communication skills and desire to work in collaboration with business partners and other multi-functional teams
- The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100
