Sesame is looking to build an iOS app that powers their next-generation wearable devices, aiming to create a seamless and delightful user experience that connects hardware to the digital world and makes voice companions part of daily life.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of iOS frameworks, CoreBluetooth, and Apple design guidelines
  • Lots of hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle of iOS apps: build trains, test strategy, and the latest UI architecture patterns.
  • Experience building apps for IoT or wearable devices.
  • Experience working with BT/BLE-enabled devices, and/or doing OTA firmware updates.
  • Experience working with iOS AccessorySetupKit.

Responsibilities

  • Build Sesame’s standalone companion app — the foundation for a new consumer product category — on a team that highly values craft and quality.
  • Work with hardware/firmware teams to design and implement a seamless iOS user experience with Sesame’s wearable devices.
  • Work with multiple teams across engineering, design, and product to ship complex projects that delight users.
  • Work with other iOS, Android, and web engineers to define Sesame's mobile and web strategy going forward.
  • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with a focus on performance and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, and App Store release cycles.

  • Strong intuition and deeply considered opinions about iOS app design and aesthetics, you can point to a portfolio of beautiful, useful apps that you either created yourself or were deeply involved in.
  • Passionate about the complex engineering involved in building lightning-fast, ergonomic, and innovative iOS UI.
  • Always up to date on the latest iOS UI/UX design patterns; tuned into the Apple release cycle and always thinking about how the latest features can help the team produce an even more incredible experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-moving product environment.
