Archer is seeking to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility by designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft, and this internship is a part of the effort to develop the software for this aircraft
Requirements
- Solid programming fundamentals and data structures knowledge
- Experience building iOS apps using Swift and Xcode
- Familiarity with iOS frameworks such as UIKit and/or SwiftUI, CoreData, CoreBluetooth, and CoreML
- Understanding of concurrency concepts (e.g., GCD, async/await, threading fundamentals)
- Strong attention to detail and a mindset oriented toward correctness and reliability
- Exposure to performance profiling and optimization on iOS
- Experience with embedded or hardware-adjacent development (Bluetooth, sensors, peripheral devices)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and iterate on features that integrate deeply with device hardware and external sensors
- Contribute to on-device AI/ML workflows, focusing on performance, reliability, and safety
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Swift code that meets high engineering standards
- Profile and optimize application performance, memory usage, and power consumption
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, backend and AI engineers
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions with senior engineers

- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Relocation and housing will not be provided
- Archer is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position at the present time
- Must be available for a 10-week full-time summer internship program opportunity
- Must be willing to work at Archer's headquarters in San Jose, California
