Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) is seeking an IPT Software Design Manager 3 to lead the software design team for an extremely complex System comprised of multiple Segments, incorporating mature and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required.
- Demonstrated experience with completing architectural studies, software design synthesis, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes, specifically system architecture and design synthesis
- Strong understanding of software design principles, computer architecture, and relevant technologies
- Proficiency in working with real-time embedded software
- Experience creating system and interface definitions through the creation of Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs) and Internal Block Definition Diagrams (IBDs)
- Experience and familiarity with some combination of: Infrastructure tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Cypress, Doxygen, Jupyter Notebooks, Visual Studio, Python, node.js; Application Management tools: GitLab, NExus, Prometheus, Trivy, SonarQube; Data and Visualization tools: SharePoint, Elasticsearch, MariaDB, MongoDB, Tableau, Grafana
Responsibilities
- lead the software design team and partner with other engineering function leaders to progress and mature the segment, and support critical engineering reviews and milestones (e.g. SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR)

- completing architectural studies, software design synthesis, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management
- Direct application of defining the desired interaction between different software and hardware components and subsystems

- Proven ability to lead and motivate engineering teams, providing guidance and support to achieve project goals
- This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.
- Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w. Polygraph prior to start
- Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.
