Ochsner Health is looking to solve the problem of analyzing and modifying programming systems to support the organization's application systems, and to provide effective technical support to users.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Ability to work with databases, online solutions and the programming languages commonly used at the company's information services department.
  • Programming experience.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
  • Ability to use electronic medical records and other healthcare software applications.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis of assigned applications and business processes/functions.
  • Modifies and supports assigned applications/systems as appropriate.
  • Partners and communicates with assigned customer/end users.
  • Maintains and enhances professional competencies and industry knowledge.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.

Other

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of related experience required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Ability to travel throughout and between facilities and work a flexible schedule (e.g. weekend, holiday, on call availability).
  • Ability to work in a patient care area and to work directly with patients.
