Xcel Energy is looking for an intern to assist the Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) Architect team with multiple efforts across the business, aiming to improve technical documentation, solutioning, and alignment with enterprise standards.
Requirements
- Flowcharting & Diagramming: technical diagrams of process, data flows, applications, networks, etc.
- High level understanding of cyber security concepts such as the CIA triad
- Basic understanding of Data Structures - how data is organized and related.
- Basic understanding of infrastructure and networking concepts such as: servers, ports, protocols, operating systems, databases, subnets, firewalls, and routers
- Basic understanding of distributed applications
- Basic understanding of technology lifecycle
- Knowledge of cloud services
Responsibilities

- assist in evaluating the technical components of vendor responses in Requests for Proposals (RFP)

Other
- Current student, Sophomore and Junior status (as of Fall 2026).
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, AI, or similar.
- Able to commute to the corporate office in Denver, CO.
