A-C Electric Company is looking to provide hands-on, problem-solving learning opportunities for students interested in technology, systems management, and IT support in a construction industry setting.
Requirements
- Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity majors
- Ability to work with hardware and software troubleshooting, user support, network administration, cybersecurity, and system optimization
- Knowledge of IT asset inventory management
- Understanding of cybersecurity initiatives, including system updates, security patches, and user training on safe computing practices
- Experience with software solutions that enhance productivity and project management
- Familiarity with IT processes and best practices
- Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to office and field staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Assist with new user setup, including device configuration, software installation, and account management
- Support network administration tasks such as monitoring network performance, resolving connectivity issues, and managing access controls
- Help maintain IT asset inventory, ensuring records of equipment assignments and software licenses are accurate
- Assist in cybersecurity initiatives, including system updates, security patches, and user training on safe computing practices
- Work with the IT team to evaluate, test, and implement software solutions that enhance productivity and project management
- Participate in the development and documentation of IT processes and best practices
Other
- Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks during Summer 2026
- Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2027
- Must be able to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for the entirety of the internship
- At least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall
- Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations
