The IT Intern role is responsible for providing IT services and support to enhance departments' operational efficiencies, patient safety, and departmental workflow needs within a healthcare organization.
Requirements
- Web development/programing classes (strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, etc.). (Required proficiency)
Responsibilities
- Assists with the design of system workflow in conjunction with clinical and business partners; workflows will focus on improved efficiencies, as well as incorporating quality initiatives.
- Participates in change management activities to support successful system deployments and enhancements.
- Assists other team members in ensuring good documentation standards; including the creation of functional design specifications.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of system documentation.
- Troubleshoots issues with vendor assistance, to resolution.
- Supports/troubleshoots Hospital Information Systems inbound/outbound interfaces as appropriate.
- Creates reports as needed and works problem tickets using ServiceNow or through the process designated.

- High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
- Active college student or recent graduate with a bachelors degree (strongly preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. (Required proficiency)
- Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical and problem solving ability. (Required proficiency)
- Notable client service, communication, and relationship building skills. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to work in hospital clinical and office areas where patient safety and confidentiality are core values. (Required proficiency)
- Reliable transportation and be flexible to work varying shifts. (Required proficiency)
