Florida Blue is seeking 2026 summer IT interns to work on real projects, get on-the-job training, and partner with a mentor from their track-specific team to advance the company's mission of helping people and communities achieve better health.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in Natural Language Processing (NLP) with a solid grasp of machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
  • Proficiency in transformer-based architectures and working knowledge of large language models (LLMs)
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, with expertise in frameworks like TensorFlow and/or PyTorch and LangChain
  • Knowledge of Linux commands and understanding of how to work with Linux boxes
  • Basic understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes
  • Experience with AWS or Azure
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Python, or Swift

Responsibilities

  • Developing, fine-tuning, and deploying models that tackle complex business problems at GuideWell
  • Collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to bring AI capabilities to life and integrate solutions that drive efficiency and innovation
  • Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting technology to safeguard company data, databases, and information systems
  • Delving into the world of infrastructure as code, networking, automation, data storage, and security, using industry-leading platforms like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure
  • Tackling real-world challenges and projects that make a real difference in cybersecurity
  • Applying cutting-edge techniques like data wrangling, model development, and visualization to drive business growth and improve health outcomes
  • Designing, developing, and deploying data analytics models and algorithms to solve business problems

Other

  • Currently enrolled in computer science, information technology, mathematics, psychology, or related degree program as a Graduate student pursuing a Master's degree at an accredited college/university in May 2026
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better during the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to commit to working at least 30 hours a week
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; team and collaboration-oriented
  • Work under minimal supervision and adapt to a dynamic, changing environment
