Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain web and backend applications for a credentialing and case management system used by the Department of Homeland Security, addressing national security initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience developing software solutions using React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Spring Boot, and JSP
- At least 2 years of experience with Java development tools such as Eclipse and Git
- Proven experience in building enterprise applications with Java
- Familiarity with continuous integration environments and modern web frameworks
- Strong understanding of software design principles and best practices
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise software development following Agile methodologies
- 1-2 years of experience with Redux
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of multiple applications within a large-scale Federal IT program, focusing on credentialing and case management systems
- Develop and implement web and backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs, ensuring security and scalability
- Integrate open-source tools and modern UI technologies to enhance application functionality and user experience
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, emphasizing refactoring and optimization
- Contribute to technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives for platforms and applications
- Participate in detailed design reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams
- Collaborate with stakeholders and end-users to gather requirements and deliver effective software solutions

- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of software development experience, or an Associate’s degree with 7+ years, or a High School diploma/equivalent with 9+ years of relevant experience
