The Department of Transportation (DOT) is looking to fill a Java Developer position to provide leadership on the adaptation and use of Java development tools and methods, develop solutions for complex variables, and maintain applications with Spring Boot and Angular frameworks.
Requirements
- Performing analysis of application systems resulting in solution recommendations for application development/enhancements.
- Programming and implementing web application solutions (using JAVA, JEE, Spring/Spring Boot, Angular, HTML5, SQL, DB2, Oracle, Hibernate, and/or WebSphere).
- Using development tools such as IntelliJ and/or Git.
- Modernizing framework for Java applications.
- Working with automating unit testing for applications using tools such as Selenium.
- Developing, testing, and/or deploying robust Java applications using industry-leading technologies and coding standards.
- Reviewing business requirements and translating them into technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to IT professionals on the adaptation and use of Java development tools and methods.
- Work with various DOT business areas to develop solutions with many complex variables.
- Maintain applications with Spring Boot and Angular frameworks.
- Support our diverse application portfolio (vendor cloud applications as well as in-house Java and .NET applications).
- Provide consulting to various development teams within our organization on their application support, development, and modernization efforts.
- Take part in the development of highly complex Modal Support systems.
- Collaborate with a wide range of business areas, IT staff, and third-party software vendors to support initiatives and increase efficiencies crossing multiple technical environments.
