Steampunk is looking for a Java Developer to join their DevSecOps practice to deliver software features, APIs, and microservice solutions for federal clients in the Homeland, Federal Civilian, Health, and DoD sectors, aiming to solve tough mission challenges through a Human-Centered delivery methodology.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience with Java
- 3+ years of experience with software development, software architecture, APIs, and microservices
- 3+ years of experience with building software using agile methods
- 1+ years of experience with database engineering, and manipulating relational and NOSQL databases
- 1+ years of experience with automating tests for determining quality, security, performance and usability of a system.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as OpenShift, EKS, and Docker
- Experience writing and evaluating user stories, acceptance criteria, and pull-requests
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy modular micro-services and cloud-based systems using Java / React
- Troubleshoot software quality, security, and reliability issues
- Automate unit and functional tests
- Identify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and fixes
- Support debugging, troubleshooting, and testing of software
- Use virtualization and containerization to optimize software systems
- Implement solutions and provide continuous improvement recommendations
