Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years (intermediate) experience with Java programming
- Minimum of 2 years (Intermediate) experience with front end frameworks (React/NextJS, Angular, Vue, etc.)
- Experience with Git
- Knowledge of Java backend services and APIs
- Experience with unit tests (e.g., JUnit, Mockito)
- Ability to write secure code and apply authentication and authorization
- Experience with agile development methodologies
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross functional teams (e.g. UX/ UI designers, testers, DevOps), estimate and plan work keeping progress updated in tools like Jira
- Use Git to manage code, work with branches, and review changes with the team
- Build and maintain Java backend services and APIs, connecting to databases and handling business logic
- Communicate development progress and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Document architecture, specifications and completed work for knowledge sharing and future reference
- Continuously enhance knowledge of Java skills and seek improvements in application performance and development workflows
- Write secure code, apply authentication and authorization, following best practices for performance, accessibility and security
Other
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years work experience)
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences
- Experience in consulting or client-facing technical roles
- Previous team leadership or mentorship experience
- 3 days per week in the office in either Columbus, OH or Tampa, FL
