Jawonio is seeking a Job Coach/Developer to align with their mission and core values, providing career development services for individuals with disabilities and/or those who are economically disadvantaged, with the goal of assisting them to perform to industry standards.
Requirements
- Knowledge of MS Word processing software
- Knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of Precision Care database software
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Responsibilities
- Provides Job Exploration Counseling to participants
- Pursues potential job opportunities suitable for individuals within the program utilizing a variety of platforms and business outreach
- Connects with current business partners and creates new potential business relationships
- Determines the job specifications for available positions
- Collects, organizes, and analyzes information about participants through case records, interest inventories, interviews, and professional sources
- Conducts individual and group counseling, covering a full range of job seeking and job performance skills
- Carries out various training functions, delivering curricula in person and/or via online platforms
Other
- A Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or 1 year of experience working or volunteering with people with disabilities or some equivalent combination
- Daily access to an automobile is required
- A valid NY State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required
- Must be cleared and maintain acceptable record under the NYS OPWDD and OMH mandated criminal background check process
- Must be clear and maintain an acceptable record under the Medicaid Fraud & Abuse clearance process
