Identify potential vocational opportunities for individuals served and understand the needs and adaptations of those with disabilities in employer settings.
Requirements
- Understand the needs of individuals with disabilities as related to employment settings.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate a network of employers.
- Develop and maintain a bank of internship and employment sites.
- Maintain a database of new employers, site visits, and job placement opportunities.
- Facilitate job readiness skills by: Assisting with job application procedures, Conducting job-seeking workshops, Coordinating mock interview workshops
- Document all contact with prospective, current, and former individuals served.
- Document services provided in compliance with agency, local, state, and federal regulations.
Other
- Maintain a flexible caseload of assigned individuals determined by program enrollment.
- Job may include, but not be limited to, the following: bending, stooping, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Job includes, at times, extensive walking.
- Frequent location changes and movement between different community-based work settings; staff may have to be at 3 to 4 different locations in one work shift.
- Work hours may be flexible based on clients’ needs.
- Strong interpersonal and sales skills
- Ability to work independently and track work is important.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, Bus admin & job dev exp preferred but not required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Mon - Fri 37.5 hours per wk./flexible hours
