ASRC Federal is seeking a JPSS Satellite Engineer Intern to support engineering and mission operations for environmental monitoring satellites managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO)
Requirements
- Understanding of satellite ground systems and flight operations
- Linux experience
- Some programming experience
Responsibilities
- Validation of flight operations products such as command procedures, telemetry displays, trend plots
- Development and verification of mission operations plans and procedures
- Integration and operation of the ground segment during interface tests, end-to-end tests and mission simulations
- Troubleshooting and analysis during ground segment anomalies, including real-time problem identification and resolution
- Improvements to or creation of tools that will increase long-term reliability, monitoring, and anomaly detection capability
- Development of and/or improvement to products used to command, control, communicate and monitor the spacecraft
- Development of and/or modifications to procedures that support launch readiness and mission integration within OSPO
Other
- Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree (in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field) or equivalent, and 0 years’ experience
- Work in typical office building during normal business hours
- Typically working 24 hours per week, but hours can vary
