Humana is seeking a Data Engineer 2 to join their development team to solve business problems by transforming data into insights and actions that enable the company to better serve its members.
Requirements
- Experience in SQL query development and ETL support
- Understanding of the concepts of normalized relational data structures
- Proficiency in Python or comparable procedural programming language
Responsibilities
- Write and maintain modular code for automation, including SQL stored procedures and ETLs, in accordance with best practices
- Review medium scale work in pair programming sessions and code reviews
- Thoroughly test and clearly document code, and explain details of the work
- Develop an understanding of the team’s underlying technology stack – primarily Python, SQL, and cloud native platforms
- Research complaints and make necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve software related issues
- Transform data into insights and actions that enable Humana to better serve our members
- Develop an understanding of department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas
Other
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
- Ability to work onsite in Louisville 1-2 days per week
- Experience with healthcare, insurance, or risk adjustment data.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
