SAIC is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support the USINDOPACOM J7 Directorate in collecting, cleaning, processing, and analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights, ensuring data integrity and accuracy through validation and cleaning processes.
Requirements
- Basic hands-on experience or internships in data science and/or analytics roles
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of statistical techniques, machine learning, and data science methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) software and systems
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms and big data technologies
Responsibilities
- Support the development and deployment of predictive models and algorithms for trend forecasting
- assist in real-time, actionable decision-making by providing data analysis and insights
- build and maintain dashboards and visualizations to communicate data insights effectively
- preparing financial documents for contract approvals
- generating reports from integrated financial systems like SMARTS
- Support the government's review and processing of documents in the Defense Travel System (DTS)
- perform other data-related duties as assigned
