SMX is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support the analysis, management, and provide reports and metrics concerning Naval aviation critical parts in the Joint Deficiency Reporting System – Critical Item Management (JDRS-CIM) database.
Requirements
- A strong background in Excel and SQL (Structured Query Language)
- Proficiency developing and executing SQL queries in relational databases (e.g Oracle, TOAD, SQL Server)
Responsibilities
- Collects, cleans, and transforms large data sets from various sources to ensure data accuracy and integrity of the information in JDRS-CIM.
- Performs data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations to develop reports and visual dashboards of findings.
- Monitors and evaluates data quality to identify gaps or inconsistencies, taking necessary steps for data refinement.
- Provides end-user support to resolve problems related to the use of JDRS-CIM.
- Performs standard and specialized queries, develops and provides reports with analysis and recommendations, develops metrics, and proposes Software Change Requests (SCRs).
- Collaborates with the software development company to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software-related problems.
- Documents and tracks support requests, ensuring accurate and detailed records of issues and resolutions.

- Must have a Technical or Scientific AS or AA degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum years of experience: 0-3 years minimum recent and relevant experience required
