ECS seeks a Junior Data Scientist to support a project team responsible for managing an Artificial Intelligence initiative, focusing on developing and applying methods to analyze image and motion imagery data and building computer vision models.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python, Open CV, Py Torch or Tensor flow and/or SQL.
- Understanding of foundational ML concepts and evaluation Metrics.
- Experience with image classification, object detection or segmentation tasks.
- Experience transforming and manipulating data sets.
- Experience with Computer Vision solution using Transformers, self-supervised learning or multi model fusion.
- Knowledge of edge deployment, model compression or real time inference.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and containerization (Dockers)
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply methods to analyze image and motion imagery data and building computer vision models across multiple classification levels and environments.
- Assist in preprocessing image/video data sets (e.g. annotation, augmentation, normalization).
- Develop and apply methods to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance GEOINT processes, and systems.
- Perform mathematical and statistical analysis of data to identify trends and generate observations that will be placed in reports for leadership.
- Develop basic statistical models and machine learning prototypes under supervision.
- Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings.

- Work in person at the required office and, as needed, classified locations with team members and customer stakeholders.
- Must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics or computer related field.
- 0-2 years in data analytics or related role.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
