Sezzle is looking for a Junior Software Engineer with accounting experience to help solve technical challenges in fintech, specifically by enhancing and maintaining software solutions for financial processes, improving automation and reconciliation workflows, and developing new features.
Requirements
- Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and familiar with database systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with backend API development.
- Experience with relational database storage and retrieval.
- Familiarity with software engineering tools, software development methodology, and release processes.
- Golang backend, React / React Native front-end
- Grafana / Loki / Prometheus metrics

Responsibilities
- Assist us with the design, development, and installation of software solutions.
- Development, writing code, and documenting functionality.
- Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes.
- Be an integral part of the software development lifecycle.
- Work as an integrated team member developing new features.
- Leverage accounting background to identify gaps and improve automation and reconciliation workflows.

- Prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst.
- Solid understanding of financial operations such as reconciliation, reporting, and compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
