Assist in developing and documenting websites, fix coding bugs, and implement new features to existing websites.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of markup/formatting languages: HTML5, CSS3, JSON, XML, YAML
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages: JavaScript
  • Basic knowledge of the React.js and Next.js frameworks
  • Experience working within and customizing a headless web CMS
  • Experience using version control and code repositories: Git, Bitbucket a plus
  • Familiar with web libraries/frameworks: jQuery, SASS/LESS, Bootstrap, etc. a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, implement, and support custom websites with direct supervision.
  • Modify existing websites to take into account changes in system requirements, business requirements, equipment configurations, or inefficiencies based on direction from the IT Development team.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of systems specifications or design mock-ups and assist with creating associated technical and design documentation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend solutions to defined problems.
  • Identify and document procedures for the installation, customization, and maintenance of websites and content management systems.

Other

  • This is a full-time, hourly position.
  • Incumbent will be expected to work 40 hours per week during normal business hours.
  • Under the close supervision of the Senior Manager, I.T. Development, the Junior Web Developer works with other members of the I.T. Department teams.
  • This role follows a hybrid working model, with a base out of one of the following Preferred Travel Group office locations: Chicago, IL; Newport Beach, CA; New York, NY; or Washington DC.
  • Associates are generally expected to work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working.
