The CoreOS software team at Apple is looking to solve the problem of leading kernel development for Apple products, including the development of new kernel features and evolving software for new Apple Silicon platforms to contribute to the success of the iPhone, iPad, and Mac product lines.
Requirements
- Experience leading a systems software development team
- In-depth knowledge of and/or experience with kernel/OS internals
- Experience with macOS device drivers and IOKit
- Experience working with Linux/UNIX kernel
Responsibilities
- Leadership and management of a team of dedicated kernel engineers in a fast-paced and demanding development environment
- Ownership of the kernel and other low-level software components
- Creating and promoting a development environment that encourages innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity
- Identifying and mitigating risks in development activities
- Strengthening the team by hiring and retaining diverse, top engineering talent

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
