The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is seeking a Research Intern to join the Urbanity Project team to contribute to cutting-edge research on housing policy, urban economics, and land use law while supporting scholars who are driving innovative, pro-housing policy solutions.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university degree program.
Responsibilities
- Read, analyze, and summarize academic work in urban economics, planning, and land use law.
- Review and synthesize state legislation related to housing policy.
- Contribute to long-term research projects with minimal supervision.
Other
- Eligible candidates will be geographically located within the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S. through the duration of the program.
- MUST be available every other Thursday (Jan. 22, Feb. 12, Feb. 26, March 12, March 26, and April 9) from 1-3:30 PM ET for virtual professional development training AND the in-person summit at Stand Together's Headquarters in Arlington, VA Feb. 6-Feb. 7.
- Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and the ability to work on a range of topics.
- Genuine interest in the Mercatus Center’s mission and principles of classical liberalism.
