Blue Origin is working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems, and this role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle
Requirements
- Experience operating launch vehicle and/or ground fluid systems for cryogenics, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to use a variety of management and planning software tools
- Working knowledge of various fluid systems
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting fluid systems
- 3-5 years of relevant aerospace industry experience working with complex engineering systems
- Previous Experience as a functional manager with direct reports
- Ability to rapidly learn and apply new software tools as required
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on system safety and process hazards analysis
- Manage a team responsible for test and operate launch vehicle fluid systems (pneumatics)
- Track and report crew readiness for test and flight operations
- Oversee adherence to all published Blue Origin Policies, Directives, Instructions and Guidelines
- Assist with budget and spend plan development and execution per the Approved Operating Plan
- Collaborate with other functional group leads to ensure consistency in training and development across the Ground and Vehicle Operations group
- Operations support will require occasional support outside of nominal business hours
Other
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience working in an operational environment
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work weekends and off-shifts, as needed, for Launch Operations surge support
- Ability to travel occasionally
