Johnson & Johnson is looking to leverage machine learning and AI-driven data science initiatives to support clinical studies, publications, and regulatory submissions within their Cardiovascular team, aiming to enable personalized treatment strategies and enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of hands-on technical data analysis and modeling experience
  • Demonstrated technical experience in building machine learning pipelines is required.
  • Experience with traditional machine learning algorithms such as random forest, boosting, and regularization methods is required.
  • Proven experience with deep learning and a variety of deep neural network architectures is required.
  • Thorough understanding of machine learning concepts such as training/testing/validation/cross-validation, loss functions, and optimization is required.
  • Proficient in one or more of Python, R, Scala, or other data science languages is required.
  • Stay current with the latest machine learning and statistical methodology in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, develop, and implement AI/machine learning and advanced analytics approaches to develop novel solutions to high-priority scientific problems, focusing on the application of AI to clinical trials
  • Design and execute analysis plans independently for various phases of clinical studies, assuming a leadership role in creating the data science strategy.
  • Review clinical study protocols and Case Report Forms (CRFs) for proposed studies with respect to data science and statistical methodology needs.
  • Interact with Biostatistics, Data Management/Engineering, Regulatory, and Clinical staff to define and clarify project requirements.
  • Produce data science reports that may be incorporated into internal clinical reports or regulatory submissions.
  • Clearly articulate highly technical methods and results to diverse audiences to drive decision-making
  • Shape internal/external collaborations to define the scope of research questions and deliver impactful solutions

Other

  • PhD or Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative field is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Strong publication record in high impact journals is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, is highly preferred.
