Wells Fargo's Technology for the Chief Operating Office (TCOO) group, specifically the Fraud and Claims Technology team, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to develop and implement scalable solutions for Voice Fraud detection, aligning with enterprise standards and strategic business objectives.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop, Kafka Streams, Spark, and ETL frameworks
- 3+ years of scripting and automation experience, including proficiency in UNIX shell scripting and automation of data workflows
- 3+ years of Data Modeling expertise, with proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical modeling for both OLTP and OLAP systems
- 2+ years of experience setting up cloud-native data platforms preferably in GCP or Azure
- Extensive experience with RDBMS and SQL, including complex queries, performance tuning, and optimization
- Experience with large-scale batch operations, including processing and scheduling tools
- Experience in API development, including designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service layers over operational data stores
Responsibilities
- Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large-scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables
- Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
- Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational, or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Oversee data integration work, including developing data models, maintaining data warehouses and analytics environments, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging a solid understanding of data information policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals
Other
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience as a leader on a technology team
- Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and security best practices
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges
