HERE is searching for a Lead Data Scientist for their Foundation Engineering team to enable the creation of mapping products that are highly available, performant, and near real-time. The team analyzes LiDAR data to optimize the detection and positioning of observations, features, and the collection vehicles observed path, and constantly monitors and improves production processes to support industry-leading autonomous vehicle map maintenance and expansion. They develop algorithms and software to process data from HERE True collection vehicles using modern Machine Learning techniques to detect observations from collected data, leveraging world-class datasets collected for over a decade. The role involves creating innovative AI solutions for highly accurate HD map products supporting leaders in autonomous driving by leveraging the latest AI technology to build the map foundation from worldwide LiDAR and Imagery data.
Requirements
- Experience with Deep Learning, Incremental Learning, Generative AI, and Foundation Models
- Excellent applied skills in Python programming.
- Experience with Algorithms, Data Structures, multi-threading, multi-processing, concurrency.
- Experience with Image Processing, Point Cloud Processing, and Autonomous Perception Systems is a plus
- Experience with Cloud Technologies, Containers, and Kubernetes Deployments is a plus
Responsibilities
- Applying latest 3D foundation model research to advance the capabilities of autonoumous vehicles
- Create, design, and build efficient and scalable AI applications.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams, developers, product managers, and stakeholders to establish requirements and deliver high quality solutions.
- Participate in multiple stages of the development lifecycle, commencing from ideation, Ai development, testing, all the way through to release.
- Detect and resolve intricate problems through troubleshooting and debugging, pinpointing underlying causes and enacting effective remedies.
- Keep current with the latest trends and advancements in research, seamlessly incorporating pertinent technologies and frameworks into ongoing projects.
- Continuously refine development processes and methodologies to amplify team efficiency and productivity.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering OR MSc/MS in Mathematics/Computer Science, Machine learning and AI or related quantitative years of experience.
- Candidates with PhD in related fields may have one/two years of experience.
