JD Power needs a Data Scientist to understand vehicle pricing features, predict future vehicle values, and provide critical insights for the automotive sector, developing new data products that solve industry problems.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise with data analytics and/or statistical concepts such as: regression, logistic regression, time-series modeling, Bayesian statistics, machine learning, data mining, simulation, optimization, and/or forecasting
- 8+ years of professional experience and full fluency with statistical programming software (including Python, Spark)
- 8+ years of professional experience with database software (RedShift, Hive, SQL, MYSQL) – full mastery of some flavor of SQL
- Professional expertise deploying cloud-based ML Ops systems
- Experience with AWS tools (Sagemaker, Glue, Batch, Lamdba…)
- Experience deploying machine learning models into production with an API
- 8+ years of professional experience working with large datasets
Responsibilities
- Utilize the latest technologies to solve challenging problems
- Create innovative machine learning processes from the ground up
- Deploy machine learning processes into production
- Build models that go into production and directly impact our core products
- Deep expertise in advanced feature engineering and AI/ML model building
- Development and consulting expert in SQL, Python, Advanced Excel along with a framework such as AWS SageMaker or Palantir Data Science Integrations
- Pipeline data, build models, deploy them in the cloud, and build monitoring suites
Other
- Daily immersion in automotive industry data
- Involved in strategic planning and decision-making for data science initiatives.
- Independently create decks to make highly technical predictions relatable to the automotive industry
- Documentation of machine learning processes
- Collaborate closely with technology and engineering teams to improve existing processes and build out new ones
