New Balance is looking to drive all aspects of AI/ML initiatives being developed, validated, and launched by the Manufacturing Innovation team to support the development and validation of new capabilities.
Requirements
- MS or equivalent experience in data science or related engineering discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data science, with at least 3 years focused on deploying machine learning models to production environments
- Experience in footwear or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to apply statistical/machine learning approaches to solve industry problems and provide actionable insights
- Proficiency with Git for collaborative development and CI/CD
- Strong command-line interface (CLI) skills for efficient data processing and workflow automation
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for managing ML lifecycle
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end AI/ML model development and deployment into production environments, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and business impact
- Lead the development of data analytics profiles for each new MI capability, focusing on Descriptive and Predictive data with an eye towards consumer insights
- Solve complex, ambiguous data problems by applying creative problem-solving approaches and technical expertise
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and up/downstream users to ensure data is accurately collected, clear, and provides actionable results
- Lead cross-functional teams in defining criteria required to build profiles that influence the design, prototyping, and manufacturing of new components
- Develop collection methods and transform data streams from existing manufacturing processes into understandable and actionable information for decision-making
