CVS Health is seeking a Leader to lead the strategy, design and development of Aetna technology data platforms to drive excellence in software engineering practices and define the organization's data strategy

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development or architecture, with a proven track record of delivering cloud-native platforms
  • 7+ years of experience managing teams in a large-scale organization, with expertise in coaching and leading teams aligned to business priorities
  • 5+ years of experience with data technologies such as MarkLogic, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and DocumentDB
  • Familiarity with various data structures and models
  • Excellent knowledge about Data streamlining tools such as Kafka, Precisely, Qlik etc.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in AI, with hands-on experience using technologies such as OpenAI, Gemini, and agentic AI automation
  • Excellent understanding of integration services and API platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of Principal and Lead Engineers to build a strategic data platform for Aetna Technology
  • Define and communicate the broader vision while executing the IT strategy in alignment with organizational standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders—including architects, application owners, and engineers—to define overall strategy, prioritization, and execution
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps that align critical business needs with scalable technical solutions
  • Leverage performance data to create feedback loops that drive continuous insight and improvement
  • Champion strong product management and agile mindsets by actively communicating team successes and identifying areas for growth
  • Build and lead high-performing teams capable of overcoming complex technical challenges to solve business-critical problems

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
  • Manage an annual budget of $15M+ to achieve business goals in alignment with IT strategy
  • Establish a streamlined operating model for the data platform, keeping stability and resiliency as the top priority
