KBR is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide technical oversight of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) of Naval aviation weapon systems, and to develop capabilities to better satisfy customer needs while optimizing operations.
Requirements
- Experience using AI/ ML/ Large Language Model tools such as Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or others.
- Proficiency analyzing data using tools such as Minitab, MATLAB, Python, or other programs/ languages.
- Familiarity or proficiency with Reliability Engineering techniques, methods, and tools such as Life Data Analysis (Weibull analysis) or non-parametric analysis to predict remaining useful product life.
- Familiarity or proficiency with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Familiarity or proficiency with Root Cause Analysis.
- Familiarity or proficiency with Reliability Block Diagrams.
- Familiarity or proficiency with Discrete event simulation (software such as Arena, FlexSim, Maintenance Aware Design Ecosystem (MADE), OPUS Life Cycle Management Software, or others).
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative methods to analyze maintenance or failure data and solve our customers’ problems.
- Oversee and review technical aspects of Reliability-Centered Maintenance Analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), and other technical analyses relating to Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability.
- Coordinate with other teams across KBR, identifying where other teams’ unique capabilities may bring value to our projects.
- Grow our team’s engineering capabilities, identifying where we may need to provide training for existing personnel or hire new personnel with other skills.
- Provide training for engineers and analysts on tools and methods as needed.
- Review technical reports, papers, and presentations.
- Present analysis results and recommendations internally and to government clients.
Other
- Eligibility for a DoD Secret Security Clearance (must be a U.S. citizen).
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or computer science from an ABET-accredited institution.
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering.
- An ability to convey complex technical content to non-technical personnel, both orally and in writing.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work well in a diverse team.
- Experience tailoring Large Language Models or building custom GPTs for specific applications.
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) or a similar certification.
- Experience leading or working with engineers from different disciplines.
- A master’s degree in engineering or business.
- Familiarity with military (ideally Navy) aviation maintenance and operations.
- Although teleworking most of the time, in-person presence in our Orange Park, FL (Jacksonville area) office may be required multiple times per month.
- Relocation/ sign on bonus available if needed.
- Travel to technical conferences or customer sites may be required up to four times per year.
- When appropriate, mentor, guide and/or coach others on our team to innovate.
- When needed, hire other engineers onto our team and manage them.
