Bold Orange is seeking a visionary Lead Front-End Engineer to define technical vision and architecture standards across multiple projects, lead the design of cross-project technical platforms, and provide technical oversight for complex client engagements, ultimately driving meaningful business impact through human-centered digital transformation.
Requirements
- Practical experience with end-to-end delivery (design, build, deploy and operate) of front-end and middle-tier (web applications, micro-services, etc.) applications that are secure, extensible, scalable, maintainable, performant, browser-compatible and accessible
- Proven ability to evaluate and implement emerging web technologies with business impact
- Established track record of designing patterns that scale across multiple teams and projects
- Ability to define front-end technology strategy aligned with business goals
- Experience architecting robust enterprise-level front-end and middle-tier solutions
- Knowledge of designing API gateways and service meshes for complex systems
- Experience establishing standards for client-side, server-side and API security, performance, and reliability
Responsibilities
- Define technical vision and architecture standards across multiple projects
- Lead design of cross-project technical platforms and systems
- Evaluate new frameworks and approaches for organizational adoption
- Provide technical oversight across multiple complex client projects
- Develop technical roadmaps for practice areas or departments
- Establish security best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes
- Champion and orchestrate adoption of modern development approaches (JAMstack, serverless, etc.)
Other
- 8-12 years of progressive front-end development experience
- Strong leadership skills with experience guiding technical teams
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with multiple JavaScript frameworks and their ecosystems
- 5+ years’ experience designing and building with a least one web server framework
