Collective Health is transforming how employers and their employees engage with health benefits by integrating technology, service, and design. The Eligibility team manages member enrollment and handles sensitive data that impacts individuals' access to health benefits. The role is part of building the next generation of systems to support seamless membership services.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of working as a full stack engineer
  • Well-versed in technologies such as Java & Spring, including strong understanding of microservices architecture
  • Use AI-enhanced development tooling like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or WindSurf as part of your regular development workflow
  • Experience building frontend features in React/Angular, even if not your primary focus
  • Deep experience in Cloud Technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with data architecture, SQL/PostgreSQL and building data intensive services
  • Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining complex systems

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, secure and configurable platform services for eligibility
  • Lead end-to-end development of services across backend(Java/Spring), integration platforms and frontend (React/Angular)
  • Build and extend APIs and data services to enable partner integrations and downstream systems
  • Integrate and operationalize AI-powered developer tools (e.g. Copilot, Cursor) and contribute to incorporating ML-backed capabilities into platform workflows
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and data teams to solve complex real-world problems like real-time eligibility validation, data and interface integrations, data enrichment, and automated decision rules
  • Drive architectural decisions and champion reusable patterns for cloud-native, AI-enabled backend systems
  • Mentor other engineers and influence best practices in system design, testing, and continuous delivery
