Atlassian is looking to redefine software practice in an AI-native world by transforming key elements of the software-development life-cycle (SDLC) with AI capabilities to solve long-time toil in the software development process and bring craft and quality to developer tools.
Requirements
- You have 8+ years of product design experience with a focus on complex workflows, products, or systems
- You can demonstrate your craft through concrete examples that solved complex challenges and highlight the meaningful outcomes your work produced
- You grasp how developers work and think, whether through your own coding experience or close collaboration with engineering teams
- You've ideally worked on developer tools, technical products, or similarly complex domains, with a strong understanding of software development concepts
Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, efficient workflows that remove friction and streamline the software development lifecycle
- Identify opportunities where AI can transform tedious tasks or provide assistance, positioning it as a natural extension of the developer's toolkit
- Create working concepts using your preferred tools—whether design software, front-end code, or AI-assisted development—to effectively communicate concepts and vision
- Drive the design process from problem definition to final implementation for complex developer tools and AI-powered enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with product to define problems and success metrics, and with engineering to work through constraints while ensuring we deliver a high-quality experience to customers
- Deeply research developer workflows and pain points, bringing their perspective into design decisions and ensuring solutions truly solve their problems
- Simplify complex technical concepts into intuitive interfaces that feel natural and effortless to use, whether they involve AI or traditional interactions
Other
- Remote (Zone B and Zone C only)
- Clear presenter of ideas: You can articulate your thinking and design decisions clearly and in ways that resonate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Adaptable: You thrive in evolving environments, can adjust your approach as new information emerges, and iterate forward with imperfect information when needed
