SUNY New Paltz is looking to solve the problem of creating and supporting custom web applications, including designing, coding, and supporting these applications, as well as implementing new features and integrations with third-party software.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as PHP (strongly preferred), Python Java, C-Sharp, JavaScript, Ruby, etc.
- Proficiency in querying relational databases with SQL
- Experience using an MVC framework (Laravel strongly preferred)
- Understanding of web request-response cycle and state management, including HTTP verbs, error codes, headers, sessions, cookies and caching
- Experience with Git
Responsibilities
- Design, code, and support custom web applications
- Implement new features in our my.newpaltz portal
- Develop integrations with third party software via Webhooks and APIs
- Stay up-to-date on vendor API changes and modify integrations as needed
- Document processes and procedures
Other
- Bachelor's degree and three years of experience or Associate's degree and five years of experience.
