The Boeing Company is looking to modernize a legacy codebase to current software coding standards for the F-15 Aircrew Trainers used by NATO International Partners, creating a state-of-the-art fighter jet simulation of the F-15 platform.
Requirements
- 10+ years of combined experience in C++, python, Ada, C, Java
- 10+ years of combined experience in Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- 3+ years of combined experience in containers, build systems, or Git
- 5+ years of combined experience with real-time software architecture and design methodologies
- 3+ years of experience with leadership in technical teams/projects
- Knowledge of aircraft systems, including weapons, night vision system, mechanics, hydraulics, electronics, flight controls, etc.
- Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, simulation visualizations, virtual environments/platforms and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Taking a legacy software simulator for fighter jets and taking that baseline to modernize with current software coding standards.
- Partners with stakeholders to advise on the review and identification of simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.
- Oversees the design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.
- Oversees validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures, documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models.
- Reviews the documentation and maintenance of technical code, algorithms, specifications and descriptions of simulation models.
- Partners with cross functional engineering teams to advise on integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.
Other
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 10 years of experience in Aircraft requirements, aircrew trainer software, or software architecture
- The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
- Travel: 10%
