The Boeing Company is looking for a Lead Software Developer to join the Ground Software Engineering team to support the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Satellite Systems Software Engineering organization and create software tools and services for the world’s highest performing satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing complex software applications and algorithmic solutions
- 5+ years of experience leading software development
- 5+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Visual Basic
- 1+ years of experience in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (Interim prestart, final post start)
- Experience with full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through formal qualification
- Experience in coaching teams with software best practices, design principles, and coding standards
Responsibilities
- Apply advanced job principles, theories, and concepts to develop highly advanced satellite ground real time software
- Recognize and act as an expert and technical lead engineer within the product, providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers
- Focus on collaborating across multiple teams and working on an Integrated Product Team (IPT)
- Initiate assignments and determine technical objectives to achieve desired results, often acting independently to uncover and resolve issues
- Lead software development, facilitate code reviews, and provide technical guidance on software standards and design principles
- Develop information that extends knowledge in a given field, forming the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products
Other
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 10% travel required
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- Active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance preferred
- Level 5 & 6: 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
