Acquisition.com is looking to solve the problem of making real world business education available to everyone by building and scaling their next generation of applications. They need a Lead Software Engineer to own critical parts of the stack, deliver systems that fuel growth, and turn complexity into clarity.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ in senior or lead roles.
  • Expert in backend microservices and system architecture, with strong skills in APIs, databases, and Next.js.
  • Proven track record building secure, scalable, and reliable full-stack systems.
  • Skilled in agent-driven development with tools such as Cursor and Claude Code.
  • Familiar with AI/ML concepts and able to apply them to real product impact.
  • Hands-on with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
  • Consistently ship reliable code, set engineering standards, and grow the team’s technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Build core features hands-on with React/Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js.
  • Hands-on design and development of scalable, secure, high-performance systems.
  • Bridge business and engineering, turning requirements into impactful, scalable solutions.
  • Ship clean, well-tested code while driving reviews, documentation, and best practices.
  • Automate workflows and eliminate technical debt to boost developer velocity.
  • Mentor engineers and set the technical bar for the team.
  • Leverage emerging tools, including AI/ML, to deliver real product impact.

  • Must live in one of the states we’re registered to operate in: CA, FL, GA, IN, MI, MN, NV, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, WI.
  • Flexible to travel to Vegas on demand (~1-4 times a year)
  • Must be flexible and able to work additional hours/weekends before workshop events/holidays if the situation warrants it
