The Ad Platforms team at Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is responsible for creating and scaling innovative global advertising solutions by building mission-critical tools and workflows to support addressable & linear ad sales, traffic, marketing, and ad serving. The Lead Software Engineer will spearhead the development of the OMS system, guiding its technical direction and ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in web application development or software engineering in a large enterprise environment using modern frameworks with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud infrastructure technologies (Terraform, AWS, K8S, Spinnaker, IAM, ALB, etc…)
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, Docker/Kubernetes, and databases.
  • Proficiency in Agile and Lean methodologies
  • Experience with AI tools, digital advertising, and modern UI frameworks (HTML/CSS/React).
  • Experience building Order Management Systems supporting Quote-to-Cash, and past experience working on Design Systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust microservices using Java, Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL, and cloud infrastructure technologies.
  • Oversee full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, and maintain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable solutions that align with business goals.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and promote coding standards.
  • Stay updated on technology trends to ensure continuous innovation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges to ensure system stability.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Passion for Disney’s storytelling legacy and curiosity for innovation.
