Beacon AI is seeking to transform aviation with an AI platform that makes flying safer, more efficient, and more capable by developing robotic software and/or embedded systems for aircraft.

Requirements

  • 5-9 years of experience designing and deploying robotic software and/or embedded systems in dynamic, high-impact environments.
  • Proven track record of working on components of robotic software stacks, such as perception, prediction, planning, or control modules.
  • Deep expertise in Linux, RTOS, or middleware technologies like ROS and DDS.
  • Experience developing software that adheres to aviation industry standards and safety-critical coding practices.
  • Background in applying machine learning techniques to robotics or related fields.
  • Familiarity with the Nvidia family of devices or similar platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems, sensors, and driver development.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of critical product lines, milestones, or feature sets, driving projects from 0 to 1 and delivering high-quality solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Proactively collaborate with a distributed team to design and deliver advanced software features using modern middleware technologies.
  • Write, review, and maintain high-quality, extensible, well-documented code that meets stringent aviation standards.
  • Lead the integration of diverse software and hardware components into a cohesive and reliable aviation pilot assistant system.
  • Drive the migration of existing Python code to C++ to enhance the performance and efficiency of edge devices.
  • Oversee the testing, validation, and deployment of software functionality, ensuring reliability, performance, and compliance with safety-critical practices.
  • Identify and resolve complex issues in software and hardware systems, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
