Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Experience leading technology projects working as a hands-on (actively coding) Application Development Lead or related role.
  • Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists
  • Proficient in automation, continuous delivery methods and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Experience with using public cloud products, such as EC2, etc.
  • Java – Expert-level implementation skills with the Core Spring Framework and including other sub-projects like Spring Security, Spring data Cassandra Spring Apache Kafka

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and manages a team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities to deliver high quality software
  • Participate in design sessions with fellow programmers, business analysts, and other team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Primarily, design and implement secure and robust REST APIs using technologies such as Java Spring Boot and Spring MVC for cloud native micro-service applications
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Other

  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
  • Demonstrates overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle with solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Experience working and collaborating with global teams across multiple time zones
