The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the NetForce Synthetic Environment team to develop software architecture for NetForce’s core products and lead the team in planning, designing, developing, integration and maintaining NetForce’s core products to meet program objectives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)
  • 10+ years of experience in programming in C/C++
  • 3+ years of experience with Scaled Agile Framework enterprise (SAFe) or Agile
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team in the software development discipline
  • Experience within the real-time simulation, including simulation system architectures, requirements, synthetic environments, system interfaces or integration and test of real-time simulators
  • 10+ years of experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming
  • Experience with agile workflow tools such as VersionOne or JIRA.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the focal point for NetForce to all Boeing users & programs.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers/Owners to define system-level software features.
  • Provide technical leadership in day-to-day design and implementation decisions.
  • Decompose system-level features into executable backlog items with the team.
  • Write actionable user stories and maintain a groomed backlog for business stakeholder priorities, incorporating architectural changes recommended by engineering.
  • Work with developers and testers to create appropriate and executable acceptance criteria.
  • Enhance team productivity through a test-first mentality and acceptance test-driven development focus.

  • 10% travel required
  • U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
