As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector on the Workforce Technology team, the business and/or technical problem is to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way, carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Requirements

  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Strong proficiency in Python (asynchronous programming, REST APIs, Fast APIs, Flask, automation scripts).
  • Hands on experience with Pyspark ( data transformation, performance tuning)
  • Experience with AWS Glue (ETL development, job orchestration, Glue Data Catalog).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development (AWS Lambda, Aurora, Dynamo DB, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).
  • Basic experience with Terraform (or other IaC tools) for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Configures, and maintains PostgreSQL and Oracle database systems.
  • Manages database instances, including monitoring performance, tuning, and optimizing.
  • Performs database backups, restores, and recovery operations.
  • Analyzes and optimizes query performance and database resources.
  • Monitors and manages database access, permissions, and roles.
  • Implements database indexing, partitioning, and other performance-enhancing techniques.
  • Develops and maintains automation scripts for database management tasks.

Other

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Relevant certifications such as PostgreSQL Certified Professional or equivalent are highly desirable
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, AWS Database - Specialty) are highly desirable.
