L3Harris is looking to solve the problem of integrating AI/ML workflow into tactical communications systems for DoD customers, with an emphasis on meeting emerging technology requirements.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and understanding of DoD customer base and their communications needs
- Familiarity with L3Harris tactical radio products
- Understand and apply the basic principles of AI/ML at the tactical edge
- Ability to work with hardware and software designers to conceptualize new products and features
- Ability to maximize architecture performance, considering CONOPS and environmental constraints
- Ability to architect solutions that utilize AI/ML for greater operator efficiency
- Knowledge of networking and data flow principles to incorporate tactical radios into larger enterprise systems
Responsibilities
- Provide critical input to the architecture of tactical communications systems using L3Harris products in a networked, tactical radio environment, ensuring they meet customer needs and their concept of operations (CONOPS) from an end-to-end systems perspective.
- Work with hardware and software designers to conceptualize new, or enhance L3Harris products and features to fulfill customer communications needs for current and future battlefield environments.
- Maximize architecture performance, considering CONOPS and environmental constraints
- Architect solutions that utilize AI/ML for greater operator efficiency to analyze vast amounts of data that drive recommended courses of action
- Contribute to systems network architecture from an operational perspective, particularly in deploying and integrating new waveform port activities for L3Harris radio platforms.
- Prepare periodic reports of engineering workforce demand based on tracked new business opportunities.
- Apply networking and data flow knowledge to incorporate tactical radios into larger enterprise systems.

- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in Systems Engineering.
- Proven and effective communications skills, interpersonal skills, customer mission focus and results oriented.
- Ability to partner with stake holders and team leaders to identify needs and develop marketable Tactical Communication System solutions which provide value to the customer.
