HGA is seeking a Junior Lighting Designer to join their Milwaukee office and collaborate on innovative, sustainable projects across healthcare, arts, education, and more, to create holistic lighting solutions and contribute to sustainable, high-performance environments.
Requirements
- A strong foundation in lighting design principles and technologies
- Working knowledge of AGI
- Proficiency with Revit
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator a plus
- Experience in Rhino 3D, Sketchup or other 3D visualization programs a plus
- Ability to perform lighting calculations, layouts, detail design, fixture selection, reports and presentation creations for lighting projects
- Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to create holistic lighting solutions
- Support design development with technical analysis and creative input
- Contribute to sustainable, high-performance environments that go beyond net-zero
- assist team in lighting design in various project types
- perform lighting calculations, layouts, detail design, fixture selection, reports and presentation creations for lighting projects
- work on multiple projects and manage workload to meet project deadlines
- work independently as well as interact effectively with others (including architects, interior designers, and electrical engineers)
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering, interior design or related field
- 0-3 years’ experience designing the lighting design for commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities
- Creativity, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit
- Interest in sustainability and data-driven design
- Ability to work independently as well as interact effectively with others
