Space Dock is looking for a Linux and Cloud Application Support Specialist to ensure virtual machines and applications run successfully within a Platform As A Service environment, troubleshoot application or VM issues, and keep their platform, Bessemer, running smoothly for a growing base of customers.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with virtual machines
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or OpenStack)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Familiarity with Ansible or other configuration management tools
  • Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python
  • Must be able to obtain required CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine system maintenance
  • Investigate and resolve live system issues
  • Deploy our platform in new environments as needed
  • Proactively identify improvements and automate recurring tasks
  • Research, propose, and implement technical solutions to support evolving customer needs
  • new installation and deployment of Platform As A Service systems, to include monthly systems updates
  • troubleshooting application or VM issues

Other

  • Requires a Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of job-related experience.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
