Serco supports the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) building and deploying high-fidelity submarine simulation, training and analysis products for the US Navy and is looking for a Linux System Administrator to join their team supporting the development infrastructure used for trainer development.
Requirements
- Experience with bash scripting.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably ProxMox and Red Hat KVM (e.g., Red Hat KVM, VMware, libvirt/virsh)
- Experience with setup and maintenance of configuration management tools such as Git and ClearCase
- Networking knowledge (OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, DHCP)
- Current IAT Level I Certifications
- Experience with System Build Automation Tools (Ansible, Linux kickstart, Puppet, Windows Deployment Server (WDS))
- Configuration management experience with both centralized and distributed version control systems (e.g., SVN and Git)
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system services, application software and system management tools for Linux systems, both natively and within virtual machines
- Setup and maintain configuration management and builds tools such Git, ClearCase and Gradle.
- Design and develop infrastructure solutions to support DevOps CI/CD deployments
- Work with team to monitor and test applications, virtual machines, and containers to identify issues with installation and performance.
- Troubleshoot Information Technology (IT) Systems to diagnose and suggest/implement potential solutions.
- Develop and employ Disaster Recovery Plans and Solutions
Other
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other related fields
- 5 years experience + Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience OR 9 years in lieu of degree
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- US Citizenship
- Ability to work on site at Middletown RI
