The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract requires a Linux System Administrator for rapid response to build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems.
Requirements
- Must have experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems using VMware 7.0 (or higher)
- Must have administration experience on RHEL 7 / 8 using Command Line Interface
- Have experience working with Ansible automation
- Knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations
- Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE
- Have experience configuring and managing NetApp storage devices
- Have network troubleshooting experience
Responsibilities
- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems
- Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices
- Utilize and follow developer-provided documentation to build and configure server/system hardware and software to baseline specifications
- Research technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure systems operate efficiently
- Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions
- Assist integration managers in problem definition and root cause analysis as needed
- Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problems and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems

- Must have 8, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- Must have 6, or more, years of directly related experience in IT systems, installing and configuring operating systems and virtual machines, and troubleshooting
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time
